Pr. Christophe Biot obtained its Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Lille in 1998, where his research focused on bio organometallics and malaria. After completing postdoctoral work in the fields of biochemistry, structural biology, and molecular modeling, he was recruited to Lille in 2004 as an assistant professor. Since joining the UGSF in 2009, he convinced his biologist colleagues that the chemist can not only make an important contribution but that he can also be the focus of such chemical biology projects. He was appointed Professor in 2012.
In addition, Pr. Biot leads the Chemical Glycobiology Team at the UGSF (CNRS UMR 8576). He also initiated the creation of the French Chemical biology Group at the French Chemical Society.
Pr. Biotis member of the Medical Research Foundation’s Scientific Committee and of the Committee of the Swiss National Foundation Sinergia Project.
Dr. Elisabeth Baumelou-Torck is a physician specialized in hematology and oncology with extensive clinical and research experience.
Dr. Baumelou-Torck founded the Hemato-Oncology Department of Foch Hospital in Paris area and served as Associate Manager until 2000.
In Lille (North of France), she has coordinated a research network with the Regional University Hospital (the largest University Hospital in Europe), before founding and leading the Catholic Hospitals Research Council.
Along her clinical and research activities, Elisabeth has been extensively involved with the French High Health Authority and National Drug Agency in different managing functions and expert capacities.
Medical Expert in the Public Health & Post-Approval Research Working Group
Alexandre Fontayne studied at Paris Sud University where he earned an MSc and a PhD in Molecular and Cell Biology.
With more of 15 years of research, project management at K.U. Leuven (Belgium) and INSERM, to then take leadership positions at LFB Biotechnologies, notably as Head of Biotherapeutics Engineering Unit, Alexandre has gained considerable expertise in Protein engineering, including human antibody generation (MG-Umab library) and molecular evolution.
Mr. Fontayne is now owner of BE4S, a dedicated network of Experts and complementary competencies to bring Pharma & Biotech innovation to the success.
